It all starts with prototypes, so we can get to know the vehicles. After this, from the VFF (pre-series car building) phase to the trial series, we also build all pre-series vehicles virtually as a first step. During pre-series production, we continuously analyze our vehicles with our partners and staff. The pre-series manufacturability analyses will look for optimization opportunities to ensure that the quality and cost of the vehicles meet the targets set.
At the Analysis and Pre-Series Center, we apply our expertise and passion to product development processes to build new products at the Győr site from the so-called early phase to the end of production, analyzing and resolving any discrepancies that arise, involving development and other specialty areas.
Our main areas: Project Management, Analysis Engineering, Vehicle Construction, Series Analysis, Vehicle Electrical/Electronics Analysis.
- The main task of Project Management is to ensure the flow of information within and outside the area, to prepare new launches, model updates, ensure series introduction and support the follow-up manufacturing sites.
- The Pre-Series Vehicle Construction team's activities range from building early stage vehicles, all pre-series cars, through to so-called special purpose and small-series vehicles, and on to making cars for photography, press and VIP purposes.
- In the Pre-Series Analysis department, vehicles and components produced in Győr are tested right from the concept phase, with the aim of ensuring that the processes and products are reliable and of high quality for series production.
- Series Analysis is responsible for and coordinates the in-factory fault prevention and elimination process for vehicles already in series production, involving all relevant areas and contributing to the achievement of ever-stricter quality targets.
- Vehicle Electrical/Electronics Analysis is responsible for physical product and process assurance in the pre-series phase, including the fault elimination process and model updating.
- In the Series Center, the tasks of colleagues also include the determination of the center-of-gravity, the implementation of corrective actions, the supervision of electronic test benches, the production, verification and approval of test programs, and the supervision of testing and commissioning processes.

Production technology design is the most important pillar of manufacturing processes. Without the optimal functioning of technologies, processes and equipment, the thousands of powertrains and cars that make Audi Hungaria one of the world's largest powertrain and state-of-the-art vehicle factories could not be produced. Operational and functional reliability, analysis and troubleshooting of various faults are essential for daily work processes.
Production technology design is a complex and exciting segment of the company, as it is based on the joint work and cooperation of several areas: casting technologies, machining, the powertrain assembly shop, the tool shop and series production, logistics, quality assurance, maintenance, development and project management.
Audi Hungaria’s production engineering team is responsible for designing the production lines of our powertrain factory. Our responsibilities include pre-decision and pre-series project work for the latest generation of internal combustion engine and electric drive production lines, performing and coordinating series production support tasks, developing and integrating new production technologies. Our team is structured around the technologies, with separate teams dedicated to the design of combustion engine and electric drive production lines, and within that, to the testing and further development of the technologies present here. There is the possibility of mobility and professional transition between our specialty areas according to one’s expertise and interest. We usually have teams of 10-15 people, working along Simultaneous Engineering principles, so we can run several projects in parallel. When interacting with our supplier partners, we tend to send our colleagues on assignments, which can nowadays mostly take the form of online visits, or on less frequent occasions, in person, which in this case means visits to suppliers in Europe for a few days. In the normal course of operations, such missions occur on average on a monthly basis. We work closely with our parent company's Production Planning area, so international coordination is also part of our daily routine.

Technical cost analysis started in 2019 as a completely new specialty area in the life of Audi Hungaria in Győr. Our aim is to extend the calculation activity to as many groups of parts as possible in connection with vehicle projects.
We support projects at an early stage, with technical, production technology and cost analysis competences and technical tools to ensure that projects are delivered in the most cost-effective way.
In order to analyze the value of products and investments, it is essential to have a professional understanding of the technologies, which requires close contact with suppliers, product and process knowledge, as well as deep technical expertise on a day-to-day basis. Our employees in the area carry out the following tasks:
- toolmaking: metal/plastic forming tool knowledge, tool design, method design, tool management
- metal machining: machining technology, forming of parts, cutting, HSC robotics
- production of plastics and elastomers: product and process knowledge
- casting
- forming technologies: machining, welding, laser technology
- knowledge of electrical components/printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing
- production technology: process optimization, calculation of design and standard times, manufacturability tests.
The international nature of the field and the technological diversity of suppliers make it important to have a deep technical knowledge of metal machining and production technology, an economic approach and foreign language knowledge.

Audi is recognized worldwide for focusing on quality as one of its core competences, therefore we see quality as a fundamental element of both our corporate and quality assurance strategies. The aim of Audi Hungaria’s quality assurance is to be a strong partner in ensuring the high quality of products manufactured in Győr and to guarantee the quality of the process throughout the entire value creation process at the company. For that very reason, our expectation is nothing less than to achieve uncompromising, premium quality in every work process and, of course, in every single product of the company, primarily in terms of appearance, production quality and reliability. These are essential prerequisites for achieving maximum customer enthusiasm and ensuring customer satisfaction.
The company’s quality assurance is based on the ISO 9001:2015 international standard for quality management systems, issued by the International Standards Organisation, and the VDA 6.1 certification, specifying the requirements for quality management systems. The Corporate Quality Assurance Powertrains area at the Győr site consistently monitors the high quality level of the engines and electric drives produced here and has been continuously improving it for years. State-of-the-art measurements and analyses are carried out in our high-tech quality test laboratory and on modern test benches.
Our company's quality assurance system is driven by our customers' needs, the company's objectives and the legal requirements for the production of vehicles. One of the main objectives of this area is to ensure the production of products and parts and their manufacturing process in the quality required by Audi AG. We select suppliers in partnership with Development and Procurement and continuously monitor the quality of services and products provided by our partners.
The technical characteristics of powertrains and complete vehicles are tested during series production. Quality Assurance takes an active role throughout the entire product life cycle, from development to delivery to the customer. In case of technical problems in the vehicles, the necessary tests and analyses are carried out in laboratories equipped with the latest technology and measuring instruments.
Separate functional areas carry out pre-series tests; analysis of electrical faults during production; post-assembly checks on the various components, interior and exterior of the car; test drive analyses; drive dynamic-acoustic tests; analysis of customer complaints. The activities of Quality Assurance also include audits, like product-powertrain audits, vehicle audits, process-system audits or even packaging audits.
Our Production Systems area in vehicle manufacturing includes production management, the CIP (KVP) office responsible for managing the Audi Production System and the training center.
Production management deals with ergonomics, which reveals the essential requirements that a workplace sets for its employees. Workforce planning and production time analysis ensure the optimum operation of production programs in terms of the number of colleagues and production times.
The CIP (KVP) segment strives to ensure Audi Hungaria's and the brand's leading position in the automotive industry through continuous improvements, with a focus on product quality and costs. We see the involvement of our colleagues as a key part of our optimization processes.
We introduce the principles and methods of the Audi Production System to our colleagues in training sessions, so they can see for themselves the importance of standardized working and learn the skills required by the plant units in the training center.
