Virtue from necessity: self-developed hand sanitizer dispensers at Audi Hungaria

Győr, June 5, 2020 – At Audi Hungaria it is of primary importance to protect the health of the employees. Therefore, not only engines and cars, but also self-developed hand sanitizer dispensers are made by Audi employees in Győr. So far, nearly 140 pieces have been manufactured by the company’s employees, and the device has been working well. As a proof for this, the hand sanitizer dispenser is patented by the company in Győr as an invention at the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office

Frequent hand disinfection belongs to the virus-safe work, but it requires a high-performance, contactless device that is not available commercially. Audi Hungaria’s employees made a virtue from necessity, since they needed only one week to develop a device that is suitable for 5,000 hand disinfections with a single charge.The unit is one metre high, 38 centimetres deep and 40 centimetre wide. The housing is actually the standard metal garbage used at Audi Hungaria, which has the same dimensions in which the necessary components could be built-in. The colleagues of the central maintenance of the engine plant built the invention out of parts of production equipment and parts available in the warehouse. Special attention was paid to cost-effectiveness, ergonomics and frequent usability. The employees of Audi Hungaria have an exemplary attitude towards virus-safe work, keeping the precautions taken.
