Győr, 1 March 2019—The Project and Training Centre of AUDI HUNGARIA Zrt. hosted the semi-final of the “Professional Star Festival” of automotive trades. Students from 43 vocational schools of Hungary attended the competition and they pitted their skills against each other in front of a jury of experienced professionals of the automotive trade. Six students of the dual training programme of Audi Hungaria and its partner schools entered the competition.
“We have had a successful, practice-oriented dual vocational training programme in cooperation with the vocational training institutions of the City of Győr for 18 years. We are honoured by the opportunity to host a number of training institutions and students from all over Hungary in the Professional Star competition so that the students can demonstrate their professional competences in the training centre of our Company”, said dr. Erzsébet Knáb, member of the Board of Management of the Company for Human Resources. “Mastering a trade is a value. I congratulate the young people who have qualified to the final and have demonstrated their excellence with their readiness and skills”, added dr. Erzsébet Knáb.
The three-round competition is organised by the Hungarian Chamber of Trade and Commerce, its main goal is to improve the prestige and attractiveness of trades in society, with the slogan “A good trade is worth a diploma”. In the semi-final of the competition, competitors had to demonstrate both their theoretical and practical knowledge, which were tested with various tasks.
The Training Centre of Audi Hungaria, hosting the competition of automotive trades, is equipped with cutting-edge technology and has been continuously expanded over the past years. For instance, body-specific training robot cells have been put into operation for introducing new models, and the training station of the coating workshop was also opened last year. This was where the competition of the body painter apprentices took place. In the context of electromobility, a new training station was set up to teach about e-engines and hybrid technologies. As digitalisation is spreading, learning is made inspiring for students in dual vocational training programmes, by iPad-assisted Mobile Learning, among other things.
AUDI HUNGARIA Zrt. was the first in Hungary to launch a dual vocational education programme in 2001 which now runs in cooperation with the Lukács Sándor Mechatronics and Mechanics Vocational Secondary School, the Pattantyús-Ábrahám Géza Industrial Vocational Secondary Grammar School and Vocational Secondary School, and the Győri Kossuth Lajos Secondary School. More than 90% of the students completing the dual training programme join Audi Hungaria.
In the national final of the “Professional Star Festival”, students can win the “excellent student of the trade” award in 60 various trades.
