Győr, 14 September 2018—The last phase of the expansion of the Audi Hungaria General Cultural Center Kindergarten was finished. A new two-storey kindergarten building of over 1,500 m2 floor space, with a terrace, balcony and yard was handed over today. The building was realized as an investment project of the Audi Hungaria School Foundation for Operating and Maintaining Institutes. The Foundation and consequently, this education and nursery institute was established by AUDI HUNGARIA Zrt and the National Self-Government of Germans in Hungary. With a house room of 100, the newly inaugurated kindergarten was launched with four mixed-age groups. Kids in each group are taken care of by a Hungarian and a German-speaking kindergarten teacher.

Construction works began in August 2017. The expansion was implemented with the financial support of AUDI HUNGARIA Zrt and the Ministry of Human Capacities.

“We are extremely proud that the last milestone of the investment project was implemented, too”, Dr. Elisabeth Knab, Member of the Board of Management for Human Resources and Organization of AUDI HUNGARIA Zrt said. “This institute passes on the values of German and Hungarian culture for both German and Hungarian children. This is of high priority for our company, and we are supporting it with our heart and soul”, she highlighted.

With the handover of the new Kindergarten, a five-year expansion process of the Audi Hungaria General Cultural Center was finished. In phase 1, 2,000 m2 of school building was renewed and new educational and sports facilities were built on a total floor space of 4,400 m2. These were handed over in 2015. Phase 2 was completed in 2016, when the school was expanded by new classrooms, group rooms and a conference hall. At the same time, one more building was also expanded and renewed, so the students and employees of the school got 3,100 m2 of new space altogether.

The Audi Hungaria General Cultural Center was acknowledged by the Federal Government of Germany as a foreign German institute in 2013, which made it a member of a worldwide network of 140 institutes.
