• Nearly 2000 graduates at the dual vocational training since 2011
Győr, 13 July 2018 — 152 young students graduated today at the dual vocational training of AUDI HUNGARIA Zrt and its partner schools that offer 15 different professions for the students. There were nearly 2000 graduates in Audi Hungaria’s hands-on training-focused education system since 2011, and 168 freshmen will start their studies in the dual system this year.
Dr. Elisabeth Knab, Member of the Board of Management for Human Resources of Audi Hungaria, Marco Reich, Head of Audi Akademie Hungaria and Dr. Dávid Fekete, Deputy Mayor of the City of Győr awarded the best graduates.
“It is of key priority for our company to provide education for the new generation in an industrial environment. We endow our students with up-to-date and competitive knowledge”, Dr. Elisabeth Knab, Member of the Board of Management for Human Resources of Audi Hungaria said at the award ceremony. “In cooperation with our partner schools, we pass on both academic and hands-on competences to our students and await them with professional career paths at Audi Hungaria”, she added.
One of the defined goals of Audi Hungaria is making vocational training more popular and professions in the automotive industry more attractive, in order to provide long-term professional supply for the company. The four-ring company and its partner schools adapt to the demands of the industry and the changes of the labour market by constantly widening the range of available professions. As of the previous academic year, the professions “automotive maintenance technician” and “alternative drive train technician” are also included in the training portfolio. Furthermore, since vocational training after high school graduation is of high priority for the company, the profession “industrial and commercial administrator” was also added to the portfolio.
Audi Hungaria’s education centre is equipped with state-of-the art machinery and has been developed on an ongoing basis in the past years: for the introduction of new models, body-specific robot cells were commissioned, and a training station was opened recently at the painting department. And, in the spirit of electromobility, a training station was set up for education on e-engines and hybrid technologies. As digitalization is gaining ground, among others, iPad-based mobile learning also makes education more inspiring for the students.
AUDI HUNGARIA Zrt. was the first in Hungary to launch the dual vocational training model in 2011. Currently, the company runs this education model together with the Sándor Lukács Vocational College and Students’ Hall of Residence for Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering, with the Ábrahám Pattantyús Industrial Intermediate College and General Cultural Center, and with the Lajos Kossuth Industrial Intermediate College, Vocational College and Students’ Hall of Residence. Over 90% of graduates in the dual training programme will prospectively work at the Audi corporation after graduation.
