Audi Hungaria: Skin-Tight Ergonomics

2016. 11. 22.

Győr, 22 November 2016 — Audi Hungaria introduced a brand new ergonomic device based on a motion capturing system, the first of its kind in the entire world. The system recognizes non-ergonomic factors by digitalizing human movement, enabling the ergonomic development and optimization of workstations and work processes.

“We at Audi Hungaria are well aware of the importance of ergonomics. Therefore, the optimal development of workstations and work processes play a key role at our company. We are planning to introduce further innovative digital solutions to help our colleagues at work”, said Peter Kössler, Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi Hungaria.

The system is made up of two components: a garment equipped with sensors, which records the movements of the worker to a memory card, and a software component, which analyzes the data. What makes this system unique is that it can be used in an industrial environment, directly at the workstations. This means that its use is not restricted to artificial laboratory settings.

The system was developed in cooperation with AXS Motionsystem Kft., a Hungarian start-up company responsible for developing the hardware and software for the application to suit the specific needs of Audi Hungaria.

The motion capturing system has already been deployed at several workstations within the company to improve their ergonomic setting. It is also used for testing planned workstations.
