Audi Hungaria Tool Factory Expanded

• Currently, about 300,000 body parts are manufactured for the 25 exclusive and sport models of the Audi and Volkswagen concern yearly.

Győr, 20 July 2016—Construction works have begun: the Tool Factory of Audi Hungaria will be expanded by 15,000 square meters. In the future, among others, body parts of the exclusive and sport models of the Audi and Volkswagen concern including side panels, fenders, engine covers, doors and roofs will be manufactured at an area of more than 50,000 square meters. The investment will bring 30 new jobs at Audi Hungaria.

The Tool Factory of Audi Hungaria has been running in Győr for 11 years now. As Peter Kössler, Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi Hungaria said, the experts at the Tool Factory have been improving their knowledge on an ongoing basis over the years. “The development of the past years proves that the Group has made an excellent decision ten years ago, when it granted the opportunity to implement the Tool Factory to Győr.”

The company has continuously developed new competences, and as a result, its scope of activities was gradually expanded, too.

“I am sure that our success story will be continued. We are proud to serve many sites of the concern worldwide with our products”, Peter Kössler added.

This unique combination of activities at the Győr Tool Factory makes it unrivaled within the Audi and Volkswagen concern: manufacturing of tools, equipment and devices, as well as exclusive production i.e. manufacturing body parts for exclusive vehicles. Among others, several body parts of the models Audi R8 and Audi RS are manufactured here. Since 2013, the Tool Factory was upgraded not only with new press machines but with an innovative 3D laser cutting machine as well.

Currently, more than 600 employees work at the Tool Factory of Audi Hungaria.
