Audi Hungaria Continues its Successful Cooperation with Győri Audi ETO KC

Győr, 10 April 2015 – AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. has committed itself to another three years of sponsoring Győri Audi ETO KC. The company has been supporting the club for 10 years now. Among all the teams in Hungary in all of the team sports, Győri Audi ETO KC is the most successful. It is the current Hungarian Champion and Champions League titleholder.

“The cooperation between Audi Hungaria and Győri Audi ETO KC is a fascinating success story,” said Dr. h.c. Thomas Faustmann, Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi Hungaria. “I am glad we can continue this partnership for another three years, now with an even stronger commitment on Audi Hungaria’s part. Our decision has been based largely on the outstanding results achieved in recent years. Like all of Audi Hungaria’s employees, I too am very proud of our joint achievements, and of the fact that as a manufacturer of world-class engines and vehicles we have been able to support one of the world’s best handball teams. I am sure that together we will continue to be able to celebrate similar successes.”

The solid background has contributed to our club’s ability to reach important milestones in our history, helping us to give our fans and all handball lovers a series of truly unique experiences.”

Audi Hungaria has been sponsoring Győri Audi ETO KC since 2005. During this time the team won the Hungarian Cup 11 times, the Hungarian Championship 8 times, and they won the Champions League twice. In the first Final Four tournament in the history of the Champions League, held in Budapest in May 2014, the Győr team held their second Champions League trophy high in front of 10,000 spectators.

Since the start of this naming sponsorship Győri Audi ETO KC has played a total of 412 matches, winning 358, losing only 43 times, and 11 matches ending in a draw. During these ten years the Győr team scored 13,112 goals.

In 2014 the team moved into its new “home,” a multifunctional sports hall called Audi Aréna Győr. The arena has taken its name from Audi Hungaria. The new building can hold 5,500 spectators, and serves as a very fitting home base for one of the world’s best handball teams. Additionally, it can be a perfect venue for concerts, cultural events, conferences, and even for holding other sports events.
Ever since its incorporation, AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. has displayed a strong commitment to supporting the region’s sporting life. In addition to sponsoring Győri Audi ETO KC, the company has been providing support to Győri ETO FC’s youth system since 2011, and is proud to support Hungarian sports as a Gold Sponsor of the Hungarian Olympic Committee.
