Győr, 26 February 2015 – AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. continues to see the vocational training of young talents as a matter of great importance: today the company's Training Centre was extended with a new training workshop. Dr. Elisabeth Knab, Member of the Board of Management for Human Resources at Audi Hungaria and Kara Ákos, State Secretary responsible for Infocommunications and Consumer Protection, Member of the Parliament for Győr, inaugurated the new metal-cutting training workshop where the future experts of metal cutting are trained in the dual vocational system.
"We have made a very promising step with the commissioning of the new machines at the start of the new year." said Dr. Elisabeth Knab, Member of the Board of Management for Human Resources at Audi Hungaria. "This ensures that our vocational students will be familiar with state-of-the-art technology and developments which will allow them to be as prepared as possible when they step out into the world of work. Our vocational training system already focuses on the labour market needs of the future. The dual vocational training system is a fundamental element of the company's long-term human resources strategy.
The new metal-cutting training workshop begins its operation within Audi Hungaria's Project and Training Centre (PTC). The area of the existing training workshop was doubled to 450 square metres, its equipment park was expanded with 7 CNC machines and a simulation room. Thanks to this, a modern vocational training infrastructure awaits the vocational students where they can familiarize themselves with state-of-the-art technologies in metal cutting. The vocational trainers of Audi Akademie Hungaria ensure the highest level education of young talents.
Parallel to this, the vocational students study at polytechnic schools in Győr which maintain a close relationship with the engine and vehicle manufacturer. During the dual vocational training, the students alternately spend one week at the company and the university. In the past 14 years, over 1,700 vocational students have received their craft certificates at Audi Hungaria. About 250 students participate in the dual vocational training every year.
The dual vocational training model established at Audi Hungaria is an exemplary practice in the area of vocational training in Hungary and it fits perfectly in the national vocational training concept.
Audi Hungaria has received much approval for its successes in the field of practice-oriented vocational training, the most recent being the Vocational Training Award of the German-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in February, 2014.
