Audi Hungaria starts fifth department at Széchenyi István University

• Management and Organisational Communication Department further expands educational programme
• Important step in the realisation of HR strategy

Győr, 18 November, 2014. – Cooperation between Audi Hungaria and the Széchenyi István University has reached another important milestone: The company and the university have a long past as strategic partners and have now founded the Management and Organisational Communication Department. Today, the foundation charter was signed by Prof. h.c. Thomas Sigi, Member of the Board of Management of AUDI AG for Human Resources , Dr. Péter Földesi, Rector of Széchenyi István University, Dr. Elisabeth Knab, Managing Director for Human Resources at Audi Hungaria and future head of department, Dr. Patrick Waldbuesser, Management Member responsible for human resource and organisational development. In doing so the engine and car manufacturer made another important step towards the realisation of its HR strategy.

Thomas Sigi, Member of the Board of Management of AUDI AG for Human Resources . “The education of tomorrow’s managers builds the foundation of our competence and gives the driving force behind our innovation. That is why we are pleased to have founded the new department.“
“Tightly knit connections with the economy add to the realisation of an attractive educational programme at the university. It furthermore helps in realising our aim of being able to compete internationally”, added Dr. Péter Földesi, rector of Széchenyi István University.

Dr. Elisabeth Knab, Managing Director for Human Resources at Audi Hungaria: “We are especially proud of our long-lasting, successful cooperation with the Széchenyi István University. New perspectives are opened with the foundation of this department which is a defining element of our proactive HR strategy. It creates new, international opportunities for both the university and its students.”

Subjects on offer are diverse: starting from basic theory and research on management and management approach, the course material is supplemented by the so called Harvard Model of human resource management. Additionally, students engage in the study of communication within groups, organisations and between organisations. In the medium term the programme will be rounded off by a postgraduate MBA course. The new department integrates the educational offering of the university’s many other departments with the following courses: finance and economy, management, marketing management, human resource management and organisational communication. The first lectures and research projects will start in the spring semester, in 2015. Until then two lectures will be held about the fundamentals of organisational communication, and renowned guest lecturers will arrive at the university for a series of lectures.

Alongside the new Management and Organisational Communication Department Audi Hungaria operates four more departments at Széchenyi István University: departments for Material Science and Technology, Internal Combustion Engines, Automotive Manufacturing and Automotive Development.
