Futuristic Projects at Audi Hungaria

2014. 06. 25.

Research and development activities are of high priority for the AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. and this is proved by the developments realized in the Engine Development Centre. As a result of the subvention awarded within the framework of the New Széchenyi Plan, several new technologies and procedures serve the effective work of the Development Centre.

As a manufacturer of premium quality engines, it is essential for the company to develop ever wider competencies in the field of research and development. The technical parameters of the engines are made ever more perfect with 3D simulation, friction analysis and acoustic tests in the field of Engine development, further increasing the efficiency and performance of the engines and at the same time reducing consumption and CO2 emissions. The aim of the "Premium Engine Development in the Engine Development Centre of the AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft." project supported by the Research and Development Innovation Fund is the establishment and application of further R+D activities in engine development.

Engine development in Győr started in 2001. Production-related development activities such as the support of the run-up of manufacturing in series and new products have been defining activities of engine development. In addition, the 180 engineers and co-workers of the field are actively engaged in various development projects such as the examination of friction performance, acoustic testing and the development of new engine variants. There are 12 high-tech testing benches in the Engine Development Centre and the latest technology is used in its workshop. As a result of the climate examination bench commissioned last year, now it is possible to test the engines in extreme climatic conditions.
