• “Audi Kreaktivity 2012” — Technical competition for secondary school students
• About 60 participants in the final from all parts of the country
• Efficiency, creativity and team play in focus
Innovation is in centre of attention:In the spirit of the “Vorsprung durch Technik”, Audi Hungaria organised the “Audi Technik Kreaktivity 2012” technical competition for secondary school students for the fifth time this year. The goal was to design and construct a vehicle that is not driven by an internal combustion engine and is able to race along a 15-metre-long straight track. Students came for the competition from all parts of the country. In the final, 12 teams presented their inventions and their advertisement campaign in Hungarian and in German.
“The competition puts creativity and development in focus; this is how we try to arouse young people’s interest for the automobile industry, innovation and technical sciences”, said Richárd Rozman, Managing Director for Human Resources of Audi Hungaria. “Efficiency, creativity and teamwork are ingredients in Audi’s recipe for success, and they were all reflected in the innovations of the competing teams as well”.
The competition was announced for secondary school and grammar school students nationwide. Out of about 40 teams 12 made it to the final, with around 60 participants in total. The vehicles constructed by the teams, with a maximum weight of 1.5 kilograms each, had to race each other in pairs along a 15 metre long and 1 metre wide straight track. The professional jury made its decision on the basis of the criteria of technical implementation, speed, teamwork, creativity, innovation, and the advertisement campaign presented in Hungarian and German.
Ottó Vincze, former member of the Hungarian national football team, leader of the talent management programme of the ETO football club and honorary member of the jury, said:
“Whatever else it is, football is team play where it is collective performance that counts rather than individual play; however, the individual performance of every single player is indispensable. When it came to the best teams, an obvious harmony could be perceived at the competition as well.”
The competition was won by the team of the Industrial Vocational School and Grammar School of Veszprém. They were awarded a weekend trip to Ingolstadt, the seat of AUDI AG, where winners can get an inside view of the processes of automobile manufacturing. Further prizes were also awarded at the competition: the “design” category was won by the team of Táncsics Mihály Grammar School and Vocational School of Kisbér, while the category “innovation” was won by the team of Boronkay György Technical Secondary School, Grammar School and Student Hostel of Vác.The special prize was awarded to the students of Gróf Széchenyi István Technical Vocational School of Székesfehérvár.
