• Information event for future suppliers in connection with the automotive plant expansion
• In focus: car manufacturing
Last Friday, AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft organised a forum in Győr for the 33 suppliers of the new automotive production plant. In accordance with the objective of the forum, representatives of the partner companies were informed of the logistical requirements for the new factory, and participants exchanged experiences to facilitate a successful future cooperation. Among the company’s partners, mostly suppliers of main units to the new automotive production plant, there are three companies which plan to manufacture components for the new Audi model in Hungary.
The quality assurance experts of Audi Hungary informed the representatives of business partners about the company’s supplier and component management requirements. “Establishing intensive cooperation with our partners in time is essential for achieving future successes,” said Thomas Faustmann, CEO of Audi Hungaria. “We welcome those suppliers who will supply their products necessary for our manufacture from their sites in the immediate proximity of the factory. This creates an opportunity for ensuring quality processes with short turnaround time and creating the production chain in an optimal way.”
In addition to already tried and tested suppliers, some new suppliers joined Audi to manufacture components for the new models in Hungary: Rehau, manufacturer of bumpers, Thyssen Krupp, producer of components for front and real drivetrains, and TI Automotiv, manufacturer of tank systems. Audi Hungaria has business ties with a number of suppliers in Hungary; of these, fifty ship standardised parts required for engine and vehicle manufacturing. The company has been striving for years to increase the proportion of Hungarian suppliers, which will rise along with the expansion of the factory.
