Audi Hungaria: 10 years – 1000 apprentices

77 apprentices left the work-study program at AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft with a successful exam in June. 65 are joining Audi Hungaria this summer, and 12 continue their studies. At the same time more than 150 new apprentices start their traineeship period at the company, so the number of apprentices trained in the framework of the work-study program started in 2001 will reach 1000.

“Adjoining practice and theory makes the work-study combination program especially attractive for the young. As a result, they can get to know a big company, and they can work with the most recent technologies” Richárd Rozman the HR director of Audi Hungaria said. “We train our apprentices to be experienced colleagues, so covering our demand for professionals.”

Our company has been working in cooperation with the vocational schools in Győr since 2001 in the framework of the work-study program; among others with the Lukács Sándor Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering School and Residential College, with the Pattantyús Ábrahám Géza Industrial Secondary School and General Cultural Centre and the Kossuth Lajos Industrial, Secondary and Vocational School and Residential College. The pupils study theory at school and obtain experience at the company. On the average, 100 pupils have been spending their traineeship at Audi Hungaria a year; from September this year, their number will increase.

The company trains them for the following professions: car mechanic, mechatronics mechanician, car manufacturer, electrotechnic technician, heavy-current electrician, electronic mechanician, car electronic mechanician, automation technician, cutting machine operator, body painter and toolmaker. Thanks to the planned factory expansion, the range will be increased by 2 professions to 13. From the next school year, the apprentices can also learn to be a body ironer and machine manufacturing technology technician at the company.
Up to now, 900 apprentices have completed their studies at Audi Hungaria; 80% of them got a job with the company when they completed practical training.
