Innovative technology and environmental consciousness complement each other well. This is also confirmed by the Széchenyi Race, a Competition of Alternative Powered Vehicles to be held on 1 May already for the sixth time. 70 vehicles will start the race, and about 200 engineers and engineering students from Hungary and other countries of the world will test their inventions in the city centre of Győr. Audi Hungaria is the main sponsor of the event for the second time.

“Our company gladly sponsors the Széchenyi Race, which encourages creativity and inventive spirit. The competition provides us with the opportunity to build connections with gifted students and experienced engineers, since hard-working specialists interested in innovation are particularly sought after at our company,” said Richárd Rozman, Director of Human Resources.

This year, 45 teams’ 70 vehicles will line up in the race. Besides Hungarian competitors, there will be teams from France, Slovakia and Iran as well at the event organized by INNO-MOBIL Sports Association. The individually constructed or modified vehicles are electrically powered, or powered by solar energy, compressed air or hydrogen. The teams will test their inventions in speed and length sections. The professional jury consisting of experts from the Hungarian automotive industry and the main sponsor, Audi Hungaria, will evaluate the vehicles according to different categories.

Today the participants made a visit to Audi Hungaria and gained some insight into engine production and vehicle assembly.

Growth is felt in all areas at Audi Hungaria: in connection with the plant expansion, the company is creating 1,800 new jobs, more than 300 of which will be filled by people with higher education degrees. There is a particular demand for mechanical and electrical engineers with a good command of German.
