Győr, March 9, 2023 – Audi Hungaria is not merely the world’s largest powertrain manufacturer. In fact, in addition to powertrain and vehicle manufacturing, as well as global procurement, IT and financial services, the company's employees are also involved in high-quality technical development activities. Audi Hungaria’s Technical Development, which has been operating in Győr since 2001, is now expanding its competencies by extending its combustion engine and electric drive module development activities to the entire powertrain system: its development portfolio will be expanded in the future to include development activities for the integration of powertrain systems in vehicles, powertrain applications and chassis systems, allowing the employees of the expanding area to develop the longitudinal, transverse and vertical dynamics of the Audi and Volkswagen Group platforms in the future.

Győr, 17.02.2023 – Today, Dirk Große-Loheide, Board member of AUDI AG for Procurement and IT, Alfons Dintner, Chairman of the Board of Audi Hungaria Zrt. and Dr. Patrick Heinecke, Board member of Audi Hungaria for Finance, IT, Procurement and Compliance signed the memorandum of association of AUDI HUNGARIA AHEAD Kft. Until now, Audi Hungaria had bundled its services in the areas of technical development, finance, IT, procurement and logistics in the virtual business division Shared Competence Center (SCC). In the future, company functions not directly related to production, such as parts of procurement, IT and finance, will now be transferred to the new wholly-owned subsidiary.

Győr, 16.02.2023 – Audi Hungaria celebrates its 30th anniversary and looks back on a real success story. The company located in Győr developed into the world's largest powertrain plant and was the first manufacturer in Hungary to produce premium category cars. Audi Hungaria’s Technical Development delivers product developments both for Audi and the Volkswagen Group. In addition to production, the company provides a wide range of services for other brands of the Group, relying on the extensive know-how of its employees. Since its foundation, the company has made a total of almost 12 billion euros in investments, making Audi Hungaria one of the largest investors in the Hungarian industry. Audi Hungaria now employs almost 12,000 people and provides a livelihood for another 50,000 or so through its service providers and suppliers. The company is one of the largest and the most attractive employer in Hungary.

Győr, November 25, 2022 – In addition to its powertrain and vehicle production activities, Audi Hungaria is increasingly focusing on competence-based services provided by our employees to the entire Volkswagen Group. These services, mainly related to technical development, finance, IT, procurement and logistics, have so far been consolidated within the virtual division called Shared Competence Center. Of these services, some of the activities not directly related to production in Győr, such as procurement, IT and financial services, will in the future be carried out by a new subsidiary fully owned by Audi Hungaria. The new company, which is expected to be officially established in the first quarter of 2023, will start operations with around 350 employees under the Audi Hungaria AHEAD brand.

Today, the expansion project of Audi Hungaria’s tool shop was officially completed. Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Julia Gross, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Hungary, Dr. Csaba András Dézsi, Mayor of Győr, Alfons Dintner, Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi Hungaria, Zoltán Les, Board Member in charge of vehicle manufacturing at Audi Hungaria, Jörg Spindler, Head of Manufacturing Engineering/Manufacturing Technology at AUDI AG, Thomas Heusser, Head of Audi Hungaria’s tool shop, György Nagy, Chairman of the Works Council of Audi Hungaria, Sándor Németh, Chairman of the Independent Trade Union of Audi Hungaria and Tünde Endi Angyalné, Head of Logistics Business Unit Tooling, jointly put into operation the new robot cells that will produce body parts for the exclusive Volkswagen and Audi Group models.

Budapest/Győr, June 21, 2022 – Today, Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Róbert Balázs Simon, Member of Parliament, Alfons Dintner, Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi Hungaria, and Robert Buttenhauser, Member of the Board of Management for Powertrain Production announced together at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Budapest that the company’s electric drive portfolio will be further expanded in the future. The investment, in which the Hungarian Government also takes part, will help to safeguard more than 260 jobs and further strengthen Hungary’s role in the global automotive industry.

Győr, June 14, 2022 – Audi Hungaria announces today that it will support Győr Water Sports Association’s kayak-canoe division, Staféta Student Sports Association, EMBERsÉG Association, and the “House of Providence” of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service. With these new partnerships, the four-ring company will support not only professional but also recreational sport and sporting opportunities for people with disabilities.

Terramar, Sitges/Győr, June 8, 2022 – The new SUV model of the CUPRA brand, the CUPRA Terramar, has been unveiled. The CUPRA Terramar model will be produced in Győr and its lineup includes various powertrain options with both internal combustion and plug-in hybrid technologies. The PHEV version represents the next generation of plug-in hybrid technology, with a pure electric range of around 100 kilometers (62 miles).

Győr, April 12, 2022 – Besides building on its nearly 30 years of experience in engine and vehicle manufacturing, Audi Hungaria is increasingly focusing on developing its services which are based on employee competences and provided to the entire Volkswagen Group. These services, mainly related to Technical Development, Finance, IT, Procurement and Logistics, get integrated into customers’ value chains, helping to make processes and activities more coherent and efficient, and to increase synergies within the Group. Győr, 23 March 2022 – As a key member of the Volkswagen Group's global production network, Audi Hungaria provides a wide range of services for the Group's various brands. As a next step, the vehicle manufacturing product portfolio will be expanded in the future with the addition of a new model from a further brand of the group: From 2024, Audi Hungaria will start the production of a future SUV model of the CUPRA brand, preparations for which have already begun at the company.

Győr, March 17, 2022 – Audi Hungaria closed the 2021 fiscal year with a stable result, despite challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic and semiconductor shortages. The world’s largest engine manufacturing plant produced 1,620,767 engines while in vehicle production, 171,015 cars rolled off the production line – a record in the history of the company. Last year, the company generated sales of EUR 7.717 billion and invested a total of EUR 162.6 million.* This brings the total investment since the company’s foundation to EUR 11.95 billion,* making Audi Hungaria the largest investor in the Hungarian automotive industry.

Győr, February 18, 2022 – Audi Hungaria has completed its 300,000th electric drive, a Performance-type e-motor with 196 kW (262 hp). Engine production began in Győr more than 28 years ago and the company has grown to become the largest engine manufacturer in the world. In 2018, the product portfolio was expanded to include electric drives. The company is already preparing to produce the next generation of e-motors in the spirit of electromobility.
